A KINDERGARTEN teacher in Johor died on Saturday just days after being bitten by a cobra, Harian Metro reported.
Aznon Sapin @ Mohd Said, 56, who taught in Batu Pahat, was pronounced dead at Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail (HSNI).
According to her daughter, Nur Fatihah Najwa Hamsan, 26, the snake attack happened on Tuesday night when her mother was tidying up the kitchen after hosting a family event.
“Suddenly, she ran to the living room calling for help and told me she had been bitten,” said Nur Fatihah.
She said she saw blood oozing from her mother’s foot before the family sent her to the hospital.
During the journey, her mother was in severe pain and gradually lost consciousness.
Upon arrival at HSNI, doctors performed CPR, reviving her after her heart briefly stopped.
Aznon Sapin was placed in intensive care for three days before being moved to a regular ward. However, she remained unconscious and eventually died.
> Singer Ziana Zain has lamented the attitude of some artistes who become snobs after gaining some measure of popularity.
“Once they are well known, some of them become proud,” she said, reported Berita Harian.
Ziana, 56, said these young artistes should be mindful of the need to be humble and to continue learning.
“In fact, as senior artiste, I’m still open to learning from young talent. There’s no harm in learning from each other,” said Ziana, who has been in show business for about three decades.
Ziana said she had worked with young celebrities who became arrogant after a brief spell under the spotlight.
“It costs nothing to be disciplined and to build good connections,” she added.
