Don’t spread false information on floods in Kelantan, says state secretary

KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan government has called on the public to avoid spreading false information or speculate on the ongoing flood disaster in the state.

State Secretary Datuk Nazran Muhammad said the public should instead seek confirmation from the relevant authorities on any uncertain matters and urged them to remain calm.

"If there is something uncertain, please consult the authorities or request their assistance,” he told Bernama after visiting flood victims at the relief centre at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Melor here on Thursday (Nov 28).

When asked if the state government had requested other states' volunteer assistance, Nazran said Kelantan is currently relying on local volunteers as the situation remains under control.

He added that they have received good cooperation from various agencies, including the Malaysian Armed Forces and the Royal Malaysia Police. – Bernama
