Eight Perlis schools to close tomorrow due to floods


KANGAR: Eight schools in Perlis will be closed on Friday (Nov 29) due to floods, and the students will follow the home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) method until the situation returns to normal.

Perlis Education director Rose Aza Che Arifin said the schools are Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Syed Hussein, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tengku Budriah, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Hwa Aik and Sekolah Menengah Agama Al Madrasah Al Alawiyah Ad Diniah here.

Others are SMK Dato Sheikh Ahmad, SK Arau and SK Guar Nangka in the Arau, as well as SK Titi Tinggi in Padang Besar.

"Today, all these schools requested early dismissal, and tomorrow, all students will continue their studies via PdPR," he said in a statement on Thursday (Nov 28).

Rose Aza said the decision to close the schools was made to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

"The schools have also been instructed to ensure students can continue accessing learning materials through the PdPR platforms provided," he added. – Bernama
