Scaly surprise: Civil Defence team catches 5m python that fell from ceiling of Taiping home

TAIPING: A 5m python that slithered into a house here from the ceiling was captured by members of the Civil Defence Force (APM).

According to a Facebook post by the Taiping local council, a seven-member team was dispatched to the house at Jalan Ayer Puteh in Kg Dew in Kamunting at 8pm Monday (Nov 25).

A video clip uploaded on Facebook showed the snake dangling from a hole in the ceiling of the house and onto the sofa.

The post has since been shared 2,300 times and attracted over 500 comments from netizens, who shared similar experiences.

APM Taiping also posted about the incident.

"I already have trauma from pythons coming into my house thrice," wrote Noreen Faizah.

"We have so far caught four snakes with the help of our neighbours and Civil Defence, and released them at the Pasir Panjang forest reserve in Port Dickson," said Kay Layla JN.

"It reminded me of the film Anaconda," said Wanie Gaban.
