KOTA BHARU: The mother of a victim in a fatal accident involving two vehicles at Kilometer 53, Kampung Sungai Lerek, Jalan Persekutuan Kuala Terengganu, was unaware of the tragedy that befell her child and son-in-law.

Nor Syahida Ibrahim, 38, the sister of the deceased Kamarudin Ibrahim, 55, stated that their mother, Siti@Fatimah Amah, 74, only knows about the death of her grandchild in the incident.

According to Nor Syahida, their mother has been repeatedly praying for the safety of her child and son-in-law.

She also mentioned that her mother is scheduled to undergo heart surgery soon.

Sinar Harian reported that three family members died, and another was seriously injured after their vehicle collided with a four-wheel drive vehicle early on Sunday (Nov 24) morning.

The accident, which claimed the lives of Nur Ardiena Kamarudin, 30, and her parents, Maimunah Mat Isa, 54, and Kamarudin Ibrahim, occurred at 4.50am.

They were returning to Kelantan from Negeri Sembilan after attending the youngest sibling Nur Azwa Shamimi's, 21, convocation at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre on Sunday.

Nor Syahida further explained that Nur Azwa Shamimi is currently in critical condition and receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah in Kuala Terengganu.

"We are all praying that Nur Azwa Shamimi gains strength and overcomes this critical phase so she can be transferred to a hospital in Kota Bharu," she said.
