Pahang exceeds RM1bil in revenue collection for a third straight year

KUANTAN: Pahang has reported a revenue collection of RM1.144bil, surpassing the RM1.137bil target set for this year, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

"This encouraging news is undoubtedly the result of the concerted effort of all civil servants in this state, who have worked diligently to achieve this target.

"Well done, congratulations and thank you to everyone," he said at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Pahang state-level "Karnival Tanah Pahang - Syukuri Nikmat, Laksana Tanggungjawab, Jelaskan Cukai Tanah Anda" at Dewan Titiwangsa, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Raub on Saturday (Nov 23).

The Mentri Besar later shared the announcement on his Facebook account.

Previously, the media reported that Pahang had achieved a hat-trick of revenue collections exceeding RM1bil for three consecutive years since 2022.

This demonstrates that the leadership of the state government is performing well, on par with other developed states such as Selangor and Johor.

Speaking about the carnival, Wan Rosdy noted that it effectively educates the state's residents about their responsibility to pay quit rent before May 31 each year.

"I am confident that the initiatives implemented by the state government will benefit the state and its people, particularly in terms of welfare, which is always our top priority," he concluded. – Bernama
