Dr Wee expresses condolences over passing of local journo Benjamin Tan

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has expressed his condolences over the passing of local journalist Benjamin Tan Zhi Wei.

The MCA president said he was saddened upon learning of Tan’s death which was caused by cryptococcal meningitis infection.

“Benjamin was always there to cover events I attended and interviews I gave to the media and had a knack for asking insightful questions.

“But beyond his professionalism, we also shared many enjoyable conversations during our casual chats after official duties.

“Rest in peace, Benjamin. You will be deeply missed,” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Nov 20).

Dr Wee joins Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil who also similarly expressed his grief over the news of Tan’s death.
