MetMalaysia: Continuous rain alert upgraded to severe in Johor, Pahang till Nov 23


PETALING JAYA: The yellow alert for continuous rain over parts of Johor and the East Coast has been upgraded to an orange alert by the Malaysian Meteorological Department.

In an advisory issued at 1pm on Monday (Nov 18), the department warned that a severe continuous rain warning is now expected to occur over Pahang (Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin), and Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing and Kota Tinggi) until Saturday (Nov 23).

A yellow alert for continuous warning continues to be in place for Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang and Pasir Puteh), Terengganu and Pahang (Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran and Bera) until Saturday (Nov 23).

Continuous rain is also expected to occur over Negri Sembilan (Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin), Melaka, Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru) until Wednesday (Nov 20).

On Friday, the department has previously issued an alert-level continuous rain (yellow) warning for the East Coast and Johor from Nov 19 to 23.
