MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for nine states until 9pm Nov 17


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm warning for nine states until 9pm on Sunday (Nov 17).

In a statement on its website, it said thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over the states of Kedah (Kuala Muda, Baling and Kulim); Perak; Kelantan (Gua Musang); Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong and Rompin); Selangor, the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya; Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban and Port Dickson); and Johor (Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru).

Over in Sarawak, bad weather was also forecast in Kuching (Bau and Kuching); Serian; Samarahan (Simunjan); Betong; Kapit (Kapit and Belaga); Bintulu (Sebauh); Miri and Limbang.

In Sabah, affected areas are the interior (Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan); west coast (Papar and Ranau); Tawau; Sandakan (Tongod) and Kudat (Kota Marudu) and FT Labuan.
