MetMalaysia: Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected for part of peninsula, Sabah, Sarawak until 4pm


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak until 4pm on Saturday (Nov 16).

The Meteorology Malaysia Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning at 12.20pm of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu and Bachok), Terengganu (Marang, Dungun and Kemaman), Pahang (Bentong, Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin), Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang), Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

Severe weather is also expected in Sarawak: Kuching, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Betong, Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah (Daro), Bintulu (Tatau) and Limbang (Lawas) as well as in Sabah: Interior (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu and Beaufort), West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud), Tawau (Semporna), Sandakan (Kinabatangan) and Kudat (Pitas) and Labuan.
