Selangor allocates RM4mil to combat dengue in 2025

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Budget 2025 allocates RM4mil for the control and prevention of dengue in the state.

In addition to this, the state government will also look into providing the dengue vaccination, which was introduced in Malaysia early this year, for the people of Selangor.

“The state government, through SelGate Healthcare Sdn Bhd, will explore collaboration with suitable healthcare service providers regarding the dengue vaccination for the people of Selangor subject to the situation and health needs of the time," Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said when tabling the Selangor Budget 2025 at the state legislative assembly on Friday (Nov 15).

He said the state was aware that there was a steady increase in the cumulative rate of dengue cases in Selangor which was consistent with the state’s population density and rapid economic development.

“Up to Nov 9, 2024, there were 56,400 dengue fever cases throughout Selangor and this is 50 % of the 111,250 cases recorded in Malaysia,’’ said Amirudin.
