Three men arrested in Penang in connection with rape of 13-year-old girl

BALIK PULAU: Three men have been arrested for allegedly taking turns to rape a 13-year-old schoolgirl in a rented house in Bayan Lepas.

A friend of the suspect, who was present in the house during the incident at around 2am on Sunday (Nov 10), was also arrested to assist in the investigation.

"On Nov 10, the victim went out with the first suspect, known as 'Syawal', at about 12.30am to Relau, and at around 2am, the victim was brought to a house at Jalan Sungai Ara 3 in Bayan Lepas," said Balik Pulau OCPD Asst Comm Sazalee Adam in a statement on Tuesday (Nov 12).

ACP Sazalee said that while in the house, Syawal had sexual relations with the victim in one of the rooms.

After the first act, a second unidentified suspect arrived, touched the victim's breasts, and they engaged in sexual intercourse.

ACP Sazalee said that following this, a third suspect pulled the victim into another room of the same house, touched her breasts, and raped her.

"Afterwards, the victim was instructed by the third suspect to return to the first room and engage in sexual intercourse again," he added.

At about 3am, "Syawal" took the victim on a motorcycle to Bayan Baru, accompanied by the second and third suspects.

At around 4am, the victim was brought back to the same house where all three suspects took turns to rape her again before she was returned to her home at about 5am.

ACP Sazalee said the investigation found that the victim knew the first suspect, whom she had befriended in April this year through an introduction.

He said the police also believed that the rape incidents happened in two different rooms of the same house.

The victim will be sent to Penang Hospital for a medical examination.

The suspects are aged between 20 to 25 and will be investigated under Section 375B of the Penal Code.
