Queen embarks on official visit to Labuan, engages with local communities, students


LABUAN: Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, arrived in Labuan on Tuesday (Nov 5) for a two-day official visit, marking her first official trip to Malaysia’s international business and financial centre.

Her Majesty touched down at Labuan Airport at noon and was welcomed by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

During this inaugural visit, the Queen has a full itinerary of engagements with the Labuan community and students, starting with a visit to the Labuan Matriculation College (LMC).

Later Tuesday, Her Majesty is expected to attend the Handicraft Showcase at Kampung Sungai Lada Community Hall, which highlights local artisans and traditional crafts.

On Wednesday (Nov 6), the Queen is scheduled to grace the presentation of donations to local communities at Kompleks Darul Kifayah, further demonstrating her commitment to community welfare and charitable initiatives. – Bernama
