Selangor MB to refer to state legal adviser over Batang Kali landslide lawsuit

GOMBAK: Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari (pic) said he will refer to the state legal adviser on how to proceed with the suit against the Selangor government by the victims and family members of the Batang Kali landslide victims.

Speaking to reporters after officiating at the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) Gombak Tunnel breakthrough ceremony here today, he said that the initial report on the landslide concluded that it was a natural disaster.

"We have explained to them and handed the report, but it's up to them if they feel dissatisfied or there was negligence.

"I will refer to the legal adviser on the consequences," he said.

A news portal reported on Monday (Oct 28) that the victims and family members of those who died in the 2022 Batang Kali landslide are suing the Selangor government and six others for breach of duty and negligence.
