GERIK: A man has been remanded for a week for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter in Bersia on Wednesday (Oct 23).
According to Sinar Harian, Gerik OCPD Supt Zulkifli Mahmood said the 42-year-old man was arrested after the victim lodged a police report against him.
"The suspect was picked up by police at Jeti Air Temin around 7.45am on Friday (Oct 25).
"Based on initial investigation, the incident occurred between 1am and 5am. The victim was brought to the hospital for an examination before the police report was lodged," he said.
Supt Zulkifli added that the man already had a criminal record for incest.
