Budget 2025: New minimum wage of RM1,700 to benefit workers, employers, says HR Minister

PUTRAJAYA: The minimum wage increase from RM1,500 to RM1,700 announced in Budget 2025 is part of the government's efforts to ensure the welfare of workers, particularly those with low incomes, while prioritising the people and elevating their dignity, says Human Resources Minister Steven Sim.

He said this initiative also offered employers the opportunity to benefit from the subsequent rise in consumer purchasing power.
