Daya Kerjaya fraud: Three directors, saleswoman charged in Ayer Keroh Sessions Court


MELAKA: Three company directors and a saleswoman were charged separately at Sessions Court in Ayer Keroh here with submitting false claims and abetting to obtain incentives under the Social Security Organisation’s (PERKESO) Daya Kerjaya 2.0 programme.

The accused - Henry Ratnaike, 45; Gan Pay Kiat, 32; Koh Kai Loon, 40, and Ling Yate May, 58 - claimed trial to their respective charges before Judge Rohatul Akmar Abdullah on Wednesday (Aug 12).

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy public prosecutor Sharina Farhana Nor Sa’ari prosecuted, while only Ratnaike was represented by lawyer Ng Fun Boon.

The charges were framed under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009 and are punishable under Section 24(2) of the same Act.

All the offences were allegedly committed at various locations here in 2024.

The prosecution proposed bail of RM15,000 for each accused based on their respective charges.

The court subsequently granted Ratnaike and Ling bail of RM15,000 each, Gan RM13,000 and Koh RM9,000, with one surety each.

The court also Sept 14 as the next mention date.
