Dozens of firefighters deployed to contain major fire at SiLC industrial area


ISKANDAR PUTERI: A total of 39 firemen were deployed to tackle a major fire at a warehouse at the SiLC industrial area here.

According to Johor Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson, a distress call was made at around 11.33am on Thursday (Oct 10) alerting on the fire.

“Some 39 firemen from six fire stations were deployed to the location immediately after receiving the emergency call about the fire.

“We also deployed three Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicles, one Compact Fire Rescue Tender (CFRT) vehicle, one foam tender vehicle, a 20,000 litre tanker, and two Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS),” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that firemen were still trying to control the fire from spreading to other nearby factories as of 1250pm.
