IGP: GISB member to be charged tomorrow for child abuse


KUALA LUMPUR: A Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) member will be charged tomorrow for allegedly abusing children in one of the care homes linked to the company.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the man would be charged at Klang Sessions court on Thursday (Sept 26).

"The suspect, who is connected with a viral video which showed children being abused at a care home linked to GISB, will be charged tomorrow," he said when contacted on Wednesday (Sept 25).

The suspect will be charged under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

Previously, the police started an investigation over a video, which showed a child being abused.

Police managed to track down the boy, who was among 572 children rescued during Ops Global since Sept 11.

The boy was also one of the children, who have been separated from his father since 2021.
