30% discount on selected traffic summonses at Kedah Kita Madani Carnival

ALOR SETAR: The police counter to check traffic tickets and settle summonses with a 30% discount is one of the highlights awaiting visitors to the 2024 Kedah Kita Madani Carnival in Sungai Petani on Friday (Sept 20) and Saturday (Sept 21).

The carnival, held at Bandar Perdana Recreation Park and organised by the Kedah Information Department (JaPen) with the cooperation and involvement of various agencies and other government departments, is targeting about 3,000 visitors.

Kedah JaPen Community Development and Communication Services assistant director, Aidatul Shima Che Hassan, said the carnival is a field programme for the local community as well as an engagement session for JaPen in an informal atmosphere.

"This programme is one of JaPen's platforms to channel information on government policies and initiatives, as well as national messages, based on the concept of Malaysia Madani to the local community," she said.

According to her, the carnival will be opened by Sungai Petani MP Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari, who is representing Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

Aidatul Shima said the carnival starts at 9pm Friday with an esport competition as well as a one-on-one youth chat with the Sungai Petani MP.

The carnival continues Saturday with programmes that include Rahmah Sale, Madani Agro Sale, Sungai Petani Lotus Sale, Hasani Book Store Sale, and Local Entrepreneurs Sale.

"There will also be a Budi Madani Briefing by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, the Inland Revenue Board, and the Agriculture Department.

"Redemption of Madani book vouchers and mobile counters that offer various services by agencies are also provided, apart from exhibitions by government agencies and lucky draws," she said.

Aidatul Shima said she hoped people would take the opportunity to visit the carnival, which also aims to strengthen the bond between leaders, the government, and the community. – Bernama
