Kind hearts and curry puffs: FB helps teacher reunite with ex-pupil at long last


PETALING JAYA: A teacher's wish to meet her former pupil after many years finally became a reality, with the two sharing an emotional reunion.

Zainun Zahari took to Facebook to look for her and succeeded after her post went viral.

The former teacher at SK Datu Hashim in Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan shared an emotional post titled "Mencari Putri Alyaa" (searching for Putri Alyaa) where she expressed her heartfelt wish to reconnect with her pupil.

"She was quite attached to me and gave me a small container of curry puffs on my last day in school, although she was not aware it was my last day there," she recalled in the post.

"She was only four years old at the time but the emotional farewell left a lasting impact.

"I still keep a note from Putri Alyaa along with the container as a memento.

"Every time I look at the note, which has turned yellow over time, I wonder where she is."

In an update, Zainun said the mother of Putri Alyaa's friend provided her with her former pupil's contact information.

Although they could not meet in person for several reasons, a video call served as the channel for their heartfelt reunion.
