THE action role-playing game “Black Myth: Wukong” has not only taken the gaming world by storm, but also left a mark in the culinary industry.
According to China Press, the video game’s character, inspired by the Monkey King Sun Wukong from Journey to the West, has been made into a mooncake.
Pastry company Daoxiangcun has collaborated with Wukong to create a special edition mooncake gift set with six distinct flavours shaped like characters from the game.
The mooncakes are crafted using 3D modelling technology, supplemented by hand-carved moulds.
They feature a semi-translucent, two-tone gradient skin and hand-painted details that replicate the game’s characters.
Many netizens have expressed admiration, with one remarking, “I wouldn’t have the heart to eat it; I’d keep it as a piece of art.”
