Several ministry sec-gens to change portfolios in civil service reshuffle


PUTRAJAYA: Several secretaries-general will change ministries following a reshuffle involving top senior civil service posts.

Agriculture and Food Security Ministry secretary-general Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali will move to the Defence Ministry effective Sept 23, exchanging places with Datuk Seri Isham Ishak.

Datuk Seri Hasnol Zam Zam Ahmad will move from the Works Ministry to the National Unity Ministry while Datuk Seri Suriani Ahmad will head for the Health Ministry from his current posting at the Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Ministry.

The Home Ministry's Datuk Ruji Ubi will move to the Education Ministry.

Current National Unity Ministry secretary-general Datuk Azman Mohd Yusoff will move to the Human Resources Ministry, taking over from Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud.

Khairul Dzaimee’s new posting will be at the Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Ministry.

Datuk Awang Alik Jeman will be the new Home Ministry secretary-general. He is currently senior deputy secretary-general at the Prime Minister's Department.

Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, who made the announcements on Wednesday (Sept 4), also announced the appointment of Datuk Abd Shukor Mahmood as senior deputy secretary-general, Datuk Nik Nasarudin Mohd Zawawi as Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) director-general, Datuk Seri Azman Ibrahim as Works Ministry secretary-general and Razman Abu Samah as Public Private Partnership Unit director-general.

Their appointments will take effect from Thursday (Sept 5).

Shansul Azri said the new appointments and reshuffle are being implemented with the aim of reforming the civil service.
