Manjung police destroy seized items


LUMUT, 27 Ogos-- Pelbagai jenis barangan kes termasuk alat peranti telah dilupuskan. Kesemua barangan rampasan tersebut dianggarkan bernilai kira-kira RM1.46 juta di Ibu Pejabat Daerah (IPD) Manjung, hari ini. LUMUT: Items worth RM1.46mil, ranging from machines and gadgets to liquor, have been disposed of by the Manjung district police. Manjung police chief Asst Comm Mohamed Nordin Abdullah said the items were disposed of following the conclusion of legal processes for 67 investigation papers between 2021 and last year.

These items were seized from various cases. They included 1,074 Bitcoin machines, 15 computers, Internet modems and electrical cables valued at around RM1.3mil.

“Additionally, 823 cartons of cigarettes of various brands and 139 cans and bottles of liquor of different brands worth RM131,680 were disposed of.

“Another 59 case items, including mobile phones, portable printers, laptops and other entertainment-related items totalling RM31,999 were also disposed of,” he said during a press conference after the disposal process, Bernama reported.

ACP Mohamed Nordin said the items were disposed of as per standard operating procedure to prevent them from overcrowding the Manjung district police headquarters’ storeroom.
