Johol assemblyman recovering in IJN following heart attack

SEREMBAN: Johol assemblyman Datuk Saiful Yazan Sulaiman is recuperating at the National Heart Institute (IJN) after he reportedly collapsed following a heart attack.

Negri Sembilan Umno chief Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias said Saiful Yazan has been admitted at the IJN's cardiac coronary unit after undergoing a procedure Wednesday (Aug 21).

"I have been told that he has regained consciousness and is getting better. He is being closely monitored by specialists at IJN," he said when contacted.

Jalaluddin said he had visited Saiful Yazan on Wednesday evening but did not have the opportunity to chat with him.

"To me, he had always looked healthy and I never thought he would suffer from a heart-related problem.

"But again, these heart-related problems can happen to anyone and we wish him a speedy recovery," he said.

Astro Awani had earlier reported that Saiful Yazan, who is into his second term as Johol assemblyman, had suffered a heart attack on Wednesday while on his way to the Putra World Trade Centre to attend the Umno annual general assembly.
