Flash floods temporarily halt Umno wings meetings


KUALA LUMPUR: Proceedings at the Umno wings delegate meetings at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur were temporarily halted after flash floods hit the car park.

Delegates were seen rushing to their vehicles parked next to an adjacent river after warning sirens and an announcement, were repeatedly blared over the speakers.

“Whoever is parked at the open-air parking lot, please remove your cars immediately.

“Water levels at the river have exceeded dangerous levels,” the siren blared.

As heavy rain continued, more delegates rushed to move their vehicles.

Several were seen successfully driving the vehicles to higher ground but several other cars could be seen partially submerged in water.

Flash floods also inundated some neighbouring areas.
