Klang girl, seven, pens her first book

A SEVEN-year-old girl from Klang has become the youngest published author in the country, Makkal Osai reported.

Aayushi Yeogeswaran, who is a pupil of SJK (T) Taman Sentosa, has been reading since she was two and has read some 4,000 books so far, including novels.

She said she wanted to publish her work to inspire other children to develop a love for reading.

Her book, Unicorn and Little Amanda, was officially launched during an event held at Perpustakaan Raja Tun Uda in Shah Alam.

Sentosa assemblyman Dr G. Gunaraj launched the book and handed Aayushi a certificate from the Malaysian Book of Records recognising her achievement.

> A government employee in India has been receiving a salary for eight years despite having moved to the United States.

Makkal Osai reported that Bhavna Patel from Banaskantha was a head teacher at a state government-run primary school in Gujarat before settling down in the US in 2016.

She reportedly returns to the school one month in a year to teach, and this was somehow enough for the state government to continue paying her salary.

School principal Parul Mehta said he reported the teacher for her absence to education authorities but no action was taken.
