AN NGO will be launching a coffee table book on 101 influential Malaysian Indian women, Makkal Osai reported.
The Malaysian Organisation for Development of Indian Women in Career, Entrepreneurs and Professionals (MiWEPs), led by Dr Maria Rufina, is undertaking the effort to honour the achievements of Indian women in the country.
A launch held for the book in Kuala Lumpur recently featured a sharing session with Indian women leaders.
MiWEPs adviser Dr Nawar Mani Ramachandran, who hosted the session, said apart from well-known Indian women leaders such as Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan and Datuk Nicol Ann David, there are many others who have achieved success in different fields.
The book will feature independence and social activist Datuk Rasammah Bhupalan, corporate leader Datuk Suseela Menon, women’s rights activist Datuk Ramani Gurusamy and others.
The book is set for release early next year.
