Melaka cops nab Pakistani man for alleged sodomy

MELAKA: Police have arrested a Pakistani man after he allegedly sodomised and sexually assaulted a 22-year-old male job seeker.

Melaka state police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Zainol Samah said the traumatised victim lodged a police report at Tanjung Minyak police station on Tuesday (Aug 6) after he claimed to have been mercilessly attacked by the foreigner when he went for a job interview at a furniture outlet in Taman Tanjung Minyak Setia, Tanjung Minyak here at 11.30am on Monday (Aug 6).

DCP Zainol said the victim apparently begged the 36-year-old foreigner to stop his act as he was in pain.

"However, the perpetrator continued sodomising him before the victim managed to escape and went straight to the police station," he said on Wednesday (Aug 7).

DCP Zainol said the victim had gone to the job interview to support his family financially.

"The victim is the youngest child out of three siblings and his 52-year-old father is a lorry driver while his mother is a housewife," he said, adding that the suspect tested negative for drugs during screening.

DCP Zainol said the victim was also sent to Melaka Hospital for a medical examination where doctors confirmed there was a tear in his anus.

The Magistrate’s Court at Ayer Keroh ordered the suspect to be remanded for five days to assist investigation under Section 377C of the Penal Code for committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature.
