Kit Siang leads honours list for Penang Governor's 75th birthday


GEORGE TOWN: DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang will be conferred Penang's highest honour in conjunction with the 75th birthday celebration of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak.

Lim, 83, will receive the Darjah Utama Pangkuan Negeri (DUPN), which carries the title Datuk Seri Utama.

The awards ceremony to be held over four days will see Lim leading the list of 142 people receiving top honours from the head of state.

Lim, who served as an MP for 11 terms, received the title of Tan Sri from the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah last year.

A total of 1,204 individuals will be conferred honours in the ceremony, which will be held on Saturday (July 27), Tuesday (July 30), Wednesday (July 31) and Thursday (Aug 1).
