Liew catches up on latest news at The Star


PETALING JAYA: Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong met the top management of Star Media Group during a visit to Menara Star.

Greeting him yesterday were SMG group chief executive officer Chan Seng Fatt, chief content officer Datin Paduka Esther Ng and chief business officer Lydia Wang.

Liew dropped by SMG’s Chinese-language radio station 988, where he was interviewed in the studio by 988 general manager Woo Bee Ay and others.

He also granted an interview to The Star and SMG’s Malay-language weekly Majoriti 7, during which he talked about his new book Second Takeoff: Strategies for Malaysia’s Economic Resurgence, a collection of essays on economics, society and governance.

The book highlights several policy suggestions regarding Malaysia’s development into a high-income nation.

The full interview with Liew will be published in Sunday Star on July 21.

He was also briefed on SMG’s daily workflow across both its print and digital platforms.
