PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines has welcomed its first four indigenous cabin crew members after they graduated from the company’s training programme this year.

The four are among 56 cabin crew members who graduated from a three-month training programme and have been with Malaysia Airlines since May 7.

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) group managing director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail said they are proud to welcome the first batch of cabin crew from the Orang Asli community.

“This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within our workforce, ensuring equal opportunities for all, regardless of their background,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said Malaysia Airlines’ training programme – which includes public speaking, grooming, first aid, hazardous material handling, hospitality and aircraft familiarisation – ensures all cabin crew can deliver the highest standards of service and hospitality.

“We are committed to enhancing the travel experience for our global passengers and ensuring they feel at home through the diverse perspective, warmth and hospitality that shape our workforce,” he added.

The four are Amisyha Nurshahira Rosman from the Jakun tribe, Sarah Elissa Tang Aman (Temuan), Veena Angelina Jincis (Semai) and Alzariza Alwai, also from the Semai tribe.
