Green light for RM200 diesel rebate

PETALING JAYA: The Finance Ministry has approved 100,000 applications for the monthly RM200 Budi Madani cash assistance under the diesel subsidy rationalisation as of yesterday.

Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan stated that the applications included individual diesel vehicle owners (Budi Individu), farmers, and small planters (Budi Agri-Komoditi).

He said 30,000 applicants had received their payments as of June 10, followed by another 46,000 on June 19.

“Those who applied before June will receive their payments in early July.

“Eligible recipients will get their RM200 assistance monthly through their bank accounts or they can collect their cash from Bank Simpanan Nasional.

“The diesel subsidy rationalisation aims to channel targeted assistance to eligible groups and communities who need it,” he said in a statement.

The RM200 monthly cash assistance covers more than 80% of the extra expenditures for eligible diesel vehicle owners.

“I call upon eligible Malaysians to quickly register for the diesel subsidy rationalisation cash assistance in June.

“The government is committed to starting the payment in the month the application is made,” said Amir Hamzah.

The Budi Madani initiative, which started on May 28, is a platform to distribute cash assistance to eligible privately-owned diesel vehicle owners.

Applicants can check the status of their applications at https://budimadani.gov.my.

For those whose applications have not been approved, they may file appeals on the site itself.

Farmers and small planters are requested to apply under the relevant ministries. For appeals, applicants can submit them through the Budi Madani website.
