Fire razes Johor Jaya computer shop, no injuries reported


JOHOR BARU: A computer shop here in Johor Jaya was engulfed in a fire that broke out on Wednesday (May 22) afternoon.

Johor Jaya fire and rescue department operation commander Shafie Md Don said they received a call about the incident at about 12.47pm Wednesday.

"Upon receiving the call, a total of 17 firemen were deployed to the scene.

"Two fire rapid tender (FRT) vehicles, two Emergency Medical Response Services (EMRS) units, and one water tanker, were also dispatched," he said in a statement.

He added that about 90% of the building was razed in the fire.

"However, no injuries were reported.

"We managed to control the fire and ended the operation at about 4.56pm," he said.

He added that the department is still investigating the cause of the fire and total losses suffered.
