Driver killed in three-lorry mishap along NSE


IPOH: A 61-year-old lorry driver was killed after his vehicle crashed into another lorry that had turned on its side at the North-South Expressway near Tanjung Malim.

Hoo Yoon Wah, 61, was pronounced dead by medical personnel after being extricated from his wrecked vehicle following the accident yesterday at KM367 southbound, said Muallim OCPD Supt Mohd Hasni Mohd Nasir.

Prior to this crash, he said two lorries had collided earlier at about 4.40am causing one of them to turn on its side.

He said Hoo was found trapped in his vehicle with injuries to his legs.

“He was confirmed to have died after being removed from the wreckage.

Supt Mohd Hasni said the accident caused a 13km-long traffic snarl.
