VETERAN singer Ben Nathan is thankful to Datuk DJ Dave for reigniting his passion for singing.
Known for his 1980s hit Stanza Sepi Sekeping Hati, Ben returns with a new single titled Kebahagiaanmu.
He was in the news a few years ago after he was seen dishevelled and living on the streets due to poverty.
Ben said he loved his new song and thanked Dave, who acted as his producer, Berita Minggu reported.
The singer from Bukit Mertajam, Penang, is feeling revitalised and cherishing the opportunity to connect with fans once more.
His brother Bob said Ben was now staying at a care home in Petaling Jaya.
“He is fine, although he has to take medicine and see a specialist every month.
“I hope he will see some success with his new single,” Bob said.
> Rock singer Datuk Amy Search has expressed his dissatisfaction with fellow Search band members, Din and Kid, for producing a music album featuring the band’s songs without obtaining permission first, Kosmo! Ahad reported.
The conflict arose when Din and Kid released an album titled Rockology Search: Kid’Din Collection without prior discussion with Amy and the band’s bassist, Nasir.
“Both Kid and Din knew they were in the wrong.
“They are taking away the profits of the other members of Search,” he added.
Amy said he and Nasir are discussing the matter with their lawyer.
According to the report, the band has split into two groups: one comprising Amy, Nasir, Man Kidal and Hillary Ang, and the other consisting of Din and Kid.
> Actress Dynas Mokhtar has managed to recoup most of the RM60,000 which was siphoned from her debit card, Metro Ahad reported.
She is hopeful that she can recover the rest of her money.
According to Dynas, her debit card details were allegedly compromised and used by another individual for various transactions, including purchases in multiple currencies.
These transactions ranged from buying a cellphone to payments at a hair salon and online food purchases.
She said the details of her debit card were allegedly transferred to someone else.
“The bank managed to track down the purchases and recovered some of my money,” she said.
Dynas advised the public to keep their savings in several accounts and not a single account.
