Three Indian families who had been living in converted shipping containers will receive DBKL low cost housing, Makkal Osai reported.

Kuala Lumpur MIC communications chief Datuk Rajah Symon said 13 families were evicted from Kampung Segambut Bahagia to make way for redevelopment.

All families accepted the compensation except for three families, who insisted on alternative housing.

Their original homes were torn down in July this year.

The developer housed them temporarily in converted containers and their story went viral recently.

Kuala Lumpur MIC reps met with the families and DBKL officials who agreed to provide them proper alternative housing.
