Number of Kota Tinggi flood victims up to 300


JOHOR BARU: The number of flood victims in the Kota Tinggi district has increased to 300 people as of 8pm on Saturday (May 4) up from 88 at 4pm.

The Johor disaster management committee said 69 families from Kampung Temenin Baru and Kampung Desa Makmur, located about 37km from Johor Baru, were affected.

"The victims from two villages are now taking shelter at a temporary relief centre (PPS) in SK Bukit Lintang which was opened at 12.30pm," it said in a statement.

It added that the two villages experienced heavy rain which started at 9.19am on Saturday.
