Copter tragedy: Friends see Lt Cmdr Wan Rezaudeen as a hero

PETALING JAYA: Lt Cmdr Wan Rezaudeen Kamal Wan Zainal Abidin’s friend describes him as a hero.

Anas Amdan told the 2004 batch of students from St John’s Institution that Wan Rezaudeen was always a hero.

“We were proud that our friend was in the Royal Malaysian Navy and was serving the country. He was very friendly and good,” he wrote.

He said he met Wan Rezaudeen last month and did not expect it would be their last gathering.

“We are confident that Allah loves him more,” he said while extending his condolences to Wan Rezaudeen’s family.

The Navy officer was among the 10 people who perished in Tuesday’s (April 23) helicopter tragedy in Lumut, Perak.

Another friend of Wan Rezaudeen, Syafiq SJ, was upset that he did not get a chance to meet up with his friend this year.

“You have gone to meet your creator, I am shocked by the news of your demise,” he said.

Actress Eyra Hazali shared that Wan Rezaudeen was the husband of her cousin.

“One of the victims is my cousin’s husband, Lt Cmdr Wan Rezaudeen Kamal Wan Zainal Abidin.

"May their souls be placed among the devoted,” she wrote in her Instagram Story.
