Global community must work towards ending unrest in Middle East, says Anwar

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia's stance is that the global community should work towards ending the unrest in the Middle East and halt any further escalation of the situation, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister said with the ongoing unrest in the Middle East, the government will also take necessary steps to counter any potential impact it may have on the Malaysian economy and Malaysians in general.

Anwar also said that following a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu and other senior government officials on Sunday (April 15), it was also decided that Malaysia will continue its support for Palestinians who are suffering from the clashes.

"This is when all quarters should play their role to demand and find a solution to end this tension." he said.
