Raya rush: Traffic congestion along major highways on second day of Aidilfitri


PETALING JAYA: There are reports of congestion along several major highways until 1.30pm on the second day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri (April 11).

PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) reported that traffic into Bandar Baharu, Bukit Tambun to Bandar Cassia, Bandar Baharu to Alor Pongsu and Juru Autocity to Juru Tol Plaza in Penang was moving slowly.

Traffic is also congested from the north from Machap to Ayer Hitam, Simpang Renggam to Machap and Senai to Kulai in Johor, PLUS tweeted on X according to Sinar Harian.

The traffic is also slow from Bandar Aimsdale to Senawang as well as from Bandar Serenia to the Nilai junction, Negri Sembilan from Bertam to northern Sungai Petani, Kedah.

In Perak, traffic is slow from Slim River to Sungkai and in Selangor, there is major congestion from Rawang to Sungai Buaya.

Following this, the "Smart Lane" route between Bandar Cassia to Sungai Bakap stop, Penang and Senawang to Seremban, Negri Sembilan has been activated.
