Raya rush: Slow moving traffic on major highways as at 5pm


PETALING JAYA: Traffic continues to be slow-moving on several major highways in the country as at 5pm on the second day of Hari Raya (April 11).

The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said, in a Facebook post, that there was slow-moving traffic along nine stretches, Sinar Harian reported.

In Perak, the traffic was slow from Lembah Beringin to Tanjung Malim, Slim River to Bidor and the Tapah R&R to Gua Tempurung.

Slow-moving traffic was also reported from Gopeng to Simpang Pulai, Ipohg (North) to Changkat Jering and Alor Pongsu to Sungai Bakap.

Further north, traffic was slow fom Permatang Pauh to Bertam in Penang and from Sungai Petani (South) to Sungai Petani (North) and from Sungai Petani (South) to Alor Setar (North) in Kedah.

Meanwhile, Sinar Harian also reported that PLUS Trafik had detected congestion from Kuala Kangsar to Changkat Jering.

Meanwhile, in the south, congestion was reported from Simpang Ampat to Pedas Linggi and Senawang to Port Dickson (North) in Negri Sembilan and from Simpang Renggam to Ayer Hitam in Johor.
