AFTER being lambasted for apparently giving insensitive advice to a caller, radio presenter Nabil Ahmad defended his move, saying that he was not being cruel or unkind when voicing his opinion.

He said he was following religious guidelines when he told the female caller that she should forgive her mother, although she had been neglecting her children.

Nabil added that he had consulted with a religious preacher who said that he had given the right advice to the caller, reported Berita Harian.

“I understand the caller’s feelings. As a child, if we don’t want to feel sad, hurt and disappointed, the best thing to do is to forgive.

“I have also referred this matter to preacher PU Amin, who said the way to elevate oneself is by forgiving others. After hearing his explanation, I feel better,” he said.

Despite being condemned by social media users for his advice, Nabil said he chose to ignore the negativity as he believes he is on the right side.

“I don’t read the negative comments on social media nor care about them. As long as I am not going against religion, that is enough for me because if I was wrong, I would have apologised,” he added.
