Three die, five injured in three-vehicle accident in Tawau


KOTA KINABALU: Three people have died and five others injured in a three-vehicle mishap in the Tawau district.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the three deceased victims were travelling in the same vehicle while three injured victims were in a four-wheel-drive vehicle and two others on a motorcycle.

The mishap occurred at the Giram Estate area along Jalan Kunak Tawau, at around 3pm on Saturday (April 6).

Firemen received a call at 3.20pm and arrived at the scene at 3.40pm.

Medical officials pronounced three dead at the scene and provided first aid to the injured victims before they were sent to the hospital for further treatment.

The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to the police for further action.

Investigations into this case are ongoing.
