Khairy finally manages to register on Padu after initial hiccup

PETALING JAYA: With the March 31 deadline to register for the Central Database Hub (Padu) looming, more and more people are taking the opportunity to sign up.

Former science, technology and innovation minister Khairy Jamaluddin also tried to register but faced an initial hiccup when a pop-up told him that his account was already registered.

He shared a screenshot of the pop-up in an Instagram Story on Friday (March 29).

"So, finally got to register for Padu today. Just about to register, and I couldn't. I have never registered before," he said in his Insta Story.

Later, in another Story, Khairy said Padu had taken note of his issue and reset his IC (MyKad) login.

"Thanks, some guy registered using my IC number. His identity has been doxxed online, which I'm not sure is a good thing," he said, adding that two wrongs did not make a right.

The Keluar Sekejap podcast host added that the right thing to do would be to make a police report for identity theft, which he said he would do.

"Don't dox and leak that guy's info online. That suggests more suspicion against Padu. Anyway, I have now registered and submitted the e-KYC," Khairy said in his second Insta Story.
