Anwar assures Malaysia's potential for foreign investments despite political landscape

IPOH: Malaysia can still bring in foreign investments despite its stance on certain international issues, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister said this was due to the country’s political stability and clear policies.

"We have good relationships with China.

"Our stern stance to voice up for the oppressed people in Gaza, Palestine has not deterred companies from the US, Germany and other countries from investing in the country," he said in his speech during a break-fast programme at Kolej Poly-Tech MARA in Meru Raya here on Monday (March 25).

"Malaysia is full of potential and will be left behind if the uncertain political landscape continues to plague the country," he added.

Anwar also said the people should not harp on the controversial stocking issue.

"The world is competing in artificial intelligence and digital transformation while we are still arguing on other matters.

"Just let the police investigate. If there's wrongdoing, make the arrest and charge (in court), then let the judge decide and punish, and move on," he said.

"We need to change our mindset. There's no need for us to be judge and executioner," he added.

Anwar also said he was confident that Perak will be among the states in the country with the best economy.

He said the state will be developed in a few years, all thanks to three "monster" projects: the Automotive High-Technology Valley (AHTV) in Tanjong Malim, Lumut Maritime Industrial City, and Kerian Integrated Green Industrial Park.

Prior to the breakfast programme, Anwar attended a bubur lambuk cooking programme at Taman Meru and visited the Ramadan Bazaar at Taman Perpaduan.

Also present were Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, National Unity Minister Datuk Seri Aaron Ago Dagang and Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
