Cops looking for group in connection with policeman's death in Kajang


SHAH ALAM: Police are looking for a group of men in connection with the death of a 34-year-old policeman at a block of flats in Taman Impian Indah, Balakong in Kajang.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the group of men was spotted in the vicinity of where the body of the police corporal was discovered at about 3am on Saturday (March 23).

"I can confirm that the policeman was attached to the Kuala Lumpur police.

"We are in the midst of investigating the case and identifying the suspects," he told a press conference on Saturday.

Comm Hussein said the cause of death had not been ascertained pending post-mortem.

The victim's body would be flown to Kuching, Sarawak once the post-mortem was completed.

It was reported that a policeman had been found dead at a block of flats in Taman Impian Indah, Balakong.

Sources said police received a call after the victim was found lying motionless at the scene at about 3am on Saturday.

The victim, who has the rank of Corporal, was stationed at the Sentul lock-up.

Kajang police were investigating the murder and would issue more details later.
