No 'fuelling' around: Hamilton amps up excitement during special school visit


KUALA LUMPUR: Formula One star Lewis Hamilton has been burning up the X trends track with his "surprise" pit stop at SMK Seri Keramat in Kuala Lumpur on Friday (March 15).

Celebrating PETRONAS’ 50th anniversary, Hamilton’s visit to the school was part of the ‘Towards Sustainable Communities’ programme.

The programme was a collaboration between the school’s Parent and Teachers’ Association (PIBG) and Petrosains.

The seven-time world champion was accompanied by several crew members of his team who joined in the event

Many excited users have taken to social media, especially X - the platform formerly known as Twitter - to share photos and videos of the star and express their surprise upon seeing him in the flesh.

X user, Fazz (@FazreenIdham) captured and shared a video of Hamilton at the school.

The video had currently been retweeted almost 3,000 times and had more than 4,000 likes.

Replying to Fazz’s post, an X user, Lee Seng Foo, said, “Lewis Hamilton in Keramat was not on my 2024 bingo card.”

Another X user @wundagores said "Lewis Hamilton in Seri Keramat was not what I expected in 2024 but I met him, I am blessed."

@irsyahirah shared her excitement on meeting with the star, with photos to boot: "FINALLY MET LEWIS HAMILTON!."

In another video by X user, Ali @roundburger, the ace driver is seen talking about his visit in a short interview at the school.

Lewis Hamilton is currently one of the top local trends on X as his special appearance has set many Malaysian hearts racing.
