Foreign domestic helper detained for failing to provide identification documents, says the police

AMPANG: A 29-year-old Indonesian woman was detained for not having any identification documents at Taman Dato Ahmad Razali here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said a local woman had initially hired the Indonesian woman as a domestic helper after seeing an online advertisement on March 6.

"The employer asked the Indonesian woman for her personal identification details but she failed to provide any documents.

"She then attempted to flee before the employer called the police for assistance," he said in a statement on Friday (March 8).

Police personnel were deployed to the house and arrested the Indonesian woman, he said.

"She tested negative for drugs and has been remanded until March 20," he said.
