Burglars make off with RM3.5mil in gold, cash and handbags from Sentul home


KUALA LUMPUR: Thieves broke into the home of a businesswoman In Padang Balang, Sentul here and carted away cash, gold bars and designer handbags worth about RM3.5mil.

Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said the incident occurred late Sunday (March 3) night when the woman and her family were not at home.

"The robbers stole a safe filled with gold bars and cash. They also stole several designer handbags.

"The amount of losses is estimated to be about RM3.5mil," he said in a statement on Monday (March 4).

Supt Ashari said an investigation has been opened under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house-breaking.

"We have already investigated the crime scene and checks found that the CCTV at the victim's home was damaged," he said.
